About Kjetil Børkje - USN

Kjetil Børkje is a professor at the Department of Science and Industry Systems of the University of South-Eastern Norway. He obtained his PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2008 within the field of theoretical many-particle physics. He has previously worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Yale University, the Niels Bohr Institute, and the University of Oslo, and as an associate professor at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy. Børkje's primary research interest is the control and manipulation of artificial systems in the quantum regime. He has worked extensively on the theory of quantum optomechanical systems, both in close collaboration with experimentalists and on purely theoretical projects. His work has included detailed modeling of quantum measurements, proposals for mechanical quantum state preparation, and studies of the regime of large single-photon optomechanical coupling.
